Andrea Guay

I'm a fine artist with a background in architecture, working at the intersection of landscape, memory, and perception. My paintings begin with places I've experienced, but I'm less interested in describing what a landscape looks like than in exploring what it feels like to be there. Light, atmosphere, texture, and the passage of time all shape my work. Through observation, experimentation, and a process of distillation, I explore how our experiences of place become memory. Ultimately, I paint not to illustrate what I know, but to discover what I don't yet understand.
