I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, and since 2019, Ive been working and teaching as an artist and scholar in the U.S. My practice explores landscape as an ongoing process that shapes our memories and preconceptions. Drawing from Persian painting, I challenge conventional Western approaches to landscape through defamiliarization and restructuring, creating different spatial and temporal experiences. I see landscapes not as fixed realities, but as fluid spaces that can be reconsidered, transformed, and experienced differently.
